30 Best Austin Wedding Venues
2024 Updated with map
As a wedding photographer in Texas, I have shot at most of the wedding venues in the Austin and Hill country area so I have comprised a more detailed list of some of my favorites. Austin is lucky enough to home a variety of options from rustin hill country to modern city, whatever you style, Austin has created the perfect location for your wedding. These venues are what I think are, the best Austin wedding venues based on the light, variety of photos, and uniqueness.
There is also a longer list at the bottom of more Austin area venues.

Barr Mansion as many options for ceremony sites in the gardens, a beautiful glass barn, and a historic mansion all on the premises. The venue can hold around 200 people if you use the outdoor areas for seating as well. The catering is in-house but also all organic and local.
Pro tip: Pay attention to the lighting where your ceremony will be at the same time of day and year as your wedding, if possible, make sure it's not in direct sunlight.
Maximum capacity:
400 - 15 minutes from downtown Austin.
2. CAMP LUCY
Camp Lucy has a few ceremony options, 3 outdoor and 1 indoor. The reception hall shown above can hold around 250 people but there is also an outdoor pavilion which is often used as the cocktail area. It is a newer Hill Country venue made from pieces of chapel from Vietnam. It also has a new sister venue called Sacred Oaks.
Pro tip: the chapel can be limiting for photo options, if you are planning on hiring a videographer or having more than 100 people attend your wedding, we do not recommend using the chapel as it makes it more difficult to shoot.
Maximum capacity: 400 - 38 minutes from downtown Austin.
3. WOODBINE MANSION
Historic landmark located built in 1900 on 1.5 acres in downtown Round Rock. A gorgeous mansion decked out with antique mirrors, foliage, and chandeliers. Every single room in this venue is photogenic but bonus, one side of the lawn is perfect for the cocktail hour and other for reception.
Pro tip: Perfect spot for a one stop shop, don't worry about having to move from location to location on your wedding day, also surprisingly close to Austin from I-35.
Maximum capacity: 200~
- Round Rock - 25 minutes from downtown Austin.
4. CANYONWOOD RIDGE
A beautiful venue located just before Dripping Springs. 12,000 square feet of chapel and ballroom event space with an outdoor area available for ceremony and/or outdoor reception.
Pro tip: Ceremony lighting can be tricky with uneven lighting from the sun, so make sure to have your ceremony closer to sunset if utilizing the lawn.
Maximum capacity: 300~
- 30 minutes from downtown Austin.
5. THE DRISKILL
The hotel has 3 different ballroom options but the main ballroom is by far the best. It has an adjoining room that can be used for dancing, the ceremony, or a cocktail hour. Its' victorian style makes it a very unique hotel in Austin. It is also said to be haunted!
Pro tip: If you plan to use the Driskill for your ceremony we recommend getting external lighting on the bride and groom as the lighting can be very dull without it. Also, make plans to possibly walk around the capitol for bride and groom portraits.
Maximum capacity: 350
- Downtown Austin.
6. THE GREENHOUSE IN DRIFTWOOD
This hill country venue has been in the same family for three generations and as you can tell with the structures and surroundings, it has been cared for each and every day of its existence. With lush, native plants, century-old Oaks, and natural open spaces just miles from the Austin city limits, The Greenhouse is not your average venue. The property has been using rainwater collection for primary water use since the 1970’s and most of the power needs are met using rooftop solar panels. In addition to conservation, promoting wildlife and bird habitat is of utmost importance.
Maximum capacity: 250
7. VISTA WEST RANCH
This hill country venue brings out the rustic chic in any wedding. It has an outdoor area for a ceremony, another for the cocktail hour, and an indoor barn reception spot. The venue is also equipped with two rusting vintage cars and a field that is seasonally blooming with wildflowers.
Pro tip: Make sure to get the hanging lights for the dance area, they look great in photos.
Maximum capacity: 230
- 41 minutes from downtown Austin.
8. THE WINFIELD INN
This cute estate style venue located in Kyle. The house is often used for getting ready, there is an outdoor gazebo for the ceremony, and a large open pavilion for the reception. While the location plans are typically the same for each wedding, it is simply a beautiful venue.
Pro tip: We love uplighting in this venue, it goes a long way with the white ceiling.
Maximum capacity: 500 - 25 minutes from downtown Austin.
Check out more photos of the Winfield Inn here.
9. WILD ONION RANCH
This venue is a family owned ranch complete with cows. You can have the ceremony indoors or outdoors in a beautiful gazebo. The reception can be inside the main building or at the outdoor terrace. The area is beautiful with fountains and flowers. The seating arrangements for guests are scattered throughout the grounds if not placed in the terrace or main building.
Pro tip: Have the dancing in the main hall, it keeps people from getting too hot in the summer months and ensures people stay together for most of the reception.
Maximum capacity: 250
- 15 minutes from downtown Austin.
Check out more photos of Wild Onion Ranch here.
10. BOB BULLOCK MUSEUM
Did you know you coule have your reception at a museum in Austin? This unique venue is mostly used indoors for their large ballroom but ceremonies are sometimes held by the entrance. The hall is vast with tall ceilings making sure you and your guests never feel cramped. One of the bigger nice venues in town it can accommodate large weddings. It is centrally located near UT but to photograph the best areas near here would require a little walking although the museum has some nice places to photograph as well.
Pro tip: Make time to be able to utilize the areas around the museum for portraits.
Maximum capacity: 350
- 3 minutes from downtown Austin.
11. ADDISON GROVE
Texas hill country at its’ best. Addison Grove was thoughtfully built with style and comfort in mind. The bride and groom’s suites are perfect for spending the entire day leading up to your wedding. There are two main ceremony sites that both offer beautiful shaded greenery and the reception hall brings in natural light during the day and has 3 stunning chandeliers at night.
Pro tip: The pond is a beautiful spot for the ceremony, then have your cocktail hour at the grove nearby.
Maximum capacity: 200
- 25 minutes from downtown Austin.
Check out more photos of the Cathedral here.
12. RED CORRAL RANCH
This venue is located in Wimberley, just far away enough that your guests will have horrible cell service (which I think is a good thing). The ranch is equipped with enough rooms to accomodate 30-40 people on site, including a 'honeymoon suite'. We like this venue because of the variety of locations possible. Most people get married at the lower part of the venue, where the peacocks hang out, then take a hay ride to the barn for the reception. You can also have an outdoor reception here if barns are not your thing or a ceremony on a labyrinth. You can utilize this venue to make it whatever style you have envisioned for your wedding.
Pro tip: Don't use the small bedroom for hair and make-up, use the dining room in house, it's much more photogenic. Also, leave the barn doors open and do your first dance at twilight.
Maximum capacity: 200
- 51 minutes from downtown Austin.
Check out more photos of the Red Corral Ranch here.
13. TEXAS FEDERATION WOMEN’S CLUB
TFWC is a historic mansion just off of UT campus. There are many rooms for people to gather but most people use the outside courtyard for the ceremony and large main ballroom with stage for reception.
Pro tip: Think of the ballroom as a beautiful blank space to get creative with. Maximum capacity for ballroom : around 200, courtyard : around 100. ~ 10 minutes from downtown Austin.
Maximum capacity: 200
- 25 minutes from downtown Austin.
Check out more photos of the TWFC here.
14. ANTEBELLUM OAKS
This venue is built for weddings and located near lake Travis. There is a large outdoor area equipped for a beautiful ceremony under a tree. There is windowed pavilion that can be opened up if the weather is great.
Pro tip: Yard games work great at this venue.
Maximum capacity: 300
- 28 minutes from downtown Austin.
Check out more photos of Antebellum Oaks here.
15. 800 CONGRESS
“800 Congress is a downtown Austin event venue located on historic Congress Avenue with views of the Paramount & State Theatre’s and the Capitol building. The space features an open warehouse look that’s industrial yet polished with original exposed brick and foundation walls, covered street-level terrace, and state of the art A/V system. 800 Congress is your urban Austin event destination!”
Pro tip: Utilize photographing right on south congress at night.
Maximum capacity: 300
- downtown Austin.
16. LAGUNA GLORIA
This venue is also a modern art venue but has a very different feel to it than other local venues. It is mostly an outdoor venue with an indoor getting ready area and potentially an indoor cocktail area. You can have the ceremony down by the lake overlooking the pathways or right next door to the main building. When it rains it will need to be tented and the grounds are not open to vendors until later in the day due to museum hours. We have photographed weddings large and small here.
Pro tip: Make sure your family knows where to be for family portraits and when, since the venue is vast and scenic it's easy to wander around.
Maximum capacity: 150
- 10 minutes from downtown Austin.
Check out more photos of Laguna Gloria here.
17. ALLAN HOUSE
This downtown venue is a cute little house centrally located off 0f 11th street. The house is used for getting ready and the cocktail hour while there is an outdoor area for the reception and ceremony. The area is easily tented during the winter and rainy weather.
Pro tip: Do a first look and have the ceremony close to sunset time for better lighting.
Maximum capacity: 270
- Downtown Austin.
Check out more photos of the Allan House here.
18. BRODIE HOMESTEAD
It is a huge barn that can accomodate up 400 people! There is a getting ready room for the guys and girls, a large parking lot, and eventually there will be an outdoor space for a ceremony. It gets points for being one of the few venues with rustic charm that can accomodate a large wedding. And the best part?
Maximum capacity: 400
- 10 minutes from downtown Austin.
19. VINEYARDS AT CHAPPEL LODGE
The lodge is a mostly outdoor venue with two getting ready rooms large enough to get dressed before the ceremony. There is a spot under a tree for ceremony and in the right season you could have a wild flower backdrop. There is an outdoor terrace for the reception as well as an area for the cocktail hour. This venue needs to be tented if there is a chance of rain.
Pro tip: Get ready at a hotel near by as the getting ready rooms can get cramped fast and don't have the best light.
Maximum capacity: 250
- 18 minutes from downtown Austin.
Check out more photos of the Vineyards at Chappel Lodge here.
20. CAMINO REAL
“Our 6 acre ranch is close proximity to Austin and San Marcos and only 10 minutes from BBQ country in Lockhart and the famous Circuit of the Americas Formula 1 racetrack.
Once a fully operational farm, we have kept many of the unique features of the farm, but with a modern desert twist. Palm trees, agave, and Mexican sage echo Baja California tucked away in the Lone Star State’s countryside. The property has been designed with a minimalist, and clean aesthetic to highlight its spaciousness.”
Pro tip: While enjoying the outside space is ideal at Camino Real Ranch, the back up plan inside the greenhouse isn’t bad! If you are able to have the ceremony outside, keep in mind that there is no shade and you will be in direct sun.
Maximum capacity: 150
- 18 minutes from downtown Austin.
21. HOTEL ELLA
Formerly known as the Mansion on Judge's Hill but they have since done extensive remodeling to make it a more modern hotel and venue. The mansion itself is scenic with beautiful architectural design. There are two reception and two ceremony options. The only downfall is the possibility of another wedding going around the same time as your own but the large ballroom with windows covered in christmas lights is worth checking out.
Pro tip: You may have to schedule portrait time around when another bride is doing hers so you have access to more areas.
Maximum capacity: 250
- 5 minutes from downtown Austin.
22. THE FOUR SEASONS
This downtown hotel is another venue with two ballrooms with a possibility of two weddings at once. The indoor ballroom is classic with nice chandeliers. The venue gets points because of its close proximity to Town Lake giving more opportunities for photos as well as a nice ceremony option.
Pro tip: The walk to the lake is a long one if you're in uncomfortable shoes, plan accordingly. Also, uplighting. :)
Maximum capacity: 550
-Downtown Austin.
Check out more photos of the Four Seasons here.
23. BARTON CREEK RESORT
The resort has 30,000 sqft of outdoor space located just west of downtown Austin. It has a golf course on site where one of the two reception locations is located. There is a classic ballroom adjoined to a potential ceremony or cocktail room as well as a glass window pavilion that can be opened up or closed as need be.
Pro tip: Try to get ready in a room that isn't super far away from the groom, the hotel is huge and it can 10 minutes for us to walk from one to the other wasting a lot of time.

24. HOTEL ZAZA
A brand new hotel located in the thick of downtown with sister hotels in Houston and Dallas. This hotel is known for providing a boutique experience with unique decor unlike any of the major chains out there.

- Downtown Austin.

27. MA MAISON
This hill country venue was simply born to be a wedding venue. Every French-inspired detail was carefully planned to create the perfect backdrop for photos. The venue sits on 23 acres in the middle of the hill country and with that much space creates a large capacity if you utilize the inside and outside. There are a few options for outdoor ceremony spots and with a 2nd floor reception, your photographer will have great options for different angles.
Pro tip: While the capacity is grand, try not to stuff the inside as it makes moving around tables very difficult.
Maximum capacity : 600.
